Baltimore Ravens running back Justice Hill returns to Belize to explore Red Rock and discover whether the mainland is the perfect place to build his family's dream home. Follow his journey through waterfalls, jungles, waterfront communities, and one of Belize's most exciting new real estate developments.
Can Belize be more than just a vacation destination? That's exactly what Baltimore Ravens running back Justice Hill wanted to find out.
After purchasing property in Mahogany Bay on Ambergris Caye, Justice and his wife, Reality, returned to Belize with a new goal: explore the mainland and see if it was the right place to build a home for their family.
What followed wasn't just another real estate tour. It was a weekend filled with adventure, incredible scenery, and a firsthand look at one of Belize's newest master planned communities; Red Rock Belize.
Throughout the search, Justice worked closely with Dylan Wade, one of our experienced real estate advisors at RE/MAX Belize. Rather than simply showing available listings, Dylan focused on understanding Justice's long-term vision for the property—how much land he needed, the lifestyle he wanted to create, and how his family would actually use the space. As they toured Red Rock's Island Lots, Sapodilla, and Equestrian neighborhoods together, Dylan helped narrow the options based on privacy, acreage, future building plans, and overall fit. By the end of the tour, it wasn't about finding just any property—it was about finding the one that matched Justice's dream for his family in Belize.
One of the biggest mistakes buyers make is looking at property before experiencing the lifestyle.
Instead of heading straight to available homes and lots, we spent the first few days showing Justice and his family what everyday life on Belize's mainland actually feels like.
We explored the Sittee River by boat, winding through Belize's beautiful mangrove forests before entering the lush jungle waterways that make this region so unique. We wandered through Hopkins Village, spent time on the beach, rode horses along the Caribbean coastline, and cooled off beneath some of Belize's spectacular waterfalls.
By the end of the first day, the conversation had already changed.
Justice wasn't asking whether he liked Belize anymore.
He was asking where he could build.
After experiencing the lifestyle, we headed to Red Rock Belize, a master planned waterfront community along Belize's southern coast.
Unlike many Caribbean developments that focus almost entirely on beachfront homes, Red Rock offers something much different: space.
Justice already owns waterfront property at Mahogany Bay, so this trip wasn't about finding another island home. Instead, he wanted acreage where his family could spread out and build the features he had in mind.
His vision included:
A custom family home
Guest casitas
A basketball court
A fishing pond
A recovery center with a sauna and cold plunge
Plenty of room for privacy and future generations
As we toured Red Rock's Island Lots, Sapodilla, and Equestrian neighborhoods, it quickly became clear that the mainland offered opportunities that simply aren't available in many island communities.
One of the biggest takeaways from the trip was how much land is available.
Justice repeatedly talked about wanting room to be creative rather than simply maximizing waterfront views.
For many buyers relocating from North America, that's becoming an increasingly common priority.
Rather than fitting into a traditional subdivision, they want room for workshops, guest homes, gardens, sports courts, and outdoor living spaces that become part of everyday life.
Belize's mainland makes that possible.
Throughout the trip, one thing became clear.
Justice wasn't simply evaluating property values.
He was imagining family dinners.
Weekend fishing.
Kids running around the yard.
Friends visiting for weeks at a time.
Building memories.
Real estate becomes much easier when buyers stop asking:
"What should I buy?"
…and start asking:
"Where do I want my family to spend the next twenty years?"
Of course, we couldn't let Justice leave without putting him through a few challenges.
The weekend included:
Jungle ATV adventures
Waterfall swimming
Ziplining through the rainforest
And perhaps the first football catching competition ever attempted while riding a zipline hundreds of feet above the jungle.
Let's just say Justice proved why he plays on Sundays.
Ambergris Caye continues to be one of Belize's strongest vacation rental and lifestyle markets.
But buyers who already own island property or those wanting more land, privacy, and flexibility are increasingly exploring southern Belize.
Communities like Red Rock offer:
Larger homesites
Waterfront and marina access
Mountain views
Equestrian properties
Space for custom estates
Easy access to boating, fishing, rivers, waterfalls, and hiking
For buyers wanting both the Caribbean and the jungle, it's a compelling combination.
This trip wasn't just about buying another property.
It was about discovering a different side of Belize, one with rivers, waterfalls, mountains, open space, and room to build.
If you've ever wondered what it's like to experience Belize through the eyes of a professional athlete and investor, this is one episode you won't want to miss.
