Brian and Nikki came to Belize looking for a place where they could slow down, reconnect, and find the right setting for the next stage of their lives. Mitch Wood first discovered Belize while on vacation and quickly fell in love with the country, its beautiful surroundings, and the friendliness of its people. What started as a vacation experience soon turned into the idea of spending more and more time in Belize and eventually buying a place of his own. When Mitch began exploring his options, he reached out to Shane Greenwell of RE/MAX, who helped him navigate what was available and what he should be looking for. Through video calls, FaceTime, and property tours, Shane gave Mitch the opportunity to explore different locations even when he wasn't in Belize. After finding a property he liked in the Secret Beach area along the canal, Mitch decided to take the leap and purchase the property and build a house. Today, with a home, a pool, and the Belize lifestyle he had imagined, Mitch says he has never looked back and considers it a perfect decision.

Mike and Claudette Russell discovered Belize after coming across a YouTube video that sparked their interest in seeing the country for themselves. As experienced investors who build houses in the United States, they were drawn to the idea of owning investments in places they genuinely wanted to be.

Mike later returned to Belize with a clear goal of purchasing land. Peter and Raquel came to Belize after spending time working overseas in the Pacific and began looking for a place where they could invest and build a future outside the United States. Kevin took a chance on Mahogany Bay when the community was still in its early stages, using retirement funds to purchase property and build his first international rental. Today, Kevin describes it as one of the easiest builds he’s completed and a decision that ultimately paid off.

Aloysius and Satta Jackson explored several destinations while planning for retirement, but Belize ultimately felt like the right fit. After traveling, living, and working around the world, Bethsheba Johnson found something special in Belize. Rusty and Terra had long imagined retiring somewhere in the Caribbean. After exploring other destinations, including Bonaire, they were drawn to Ambergris Caye for its slower pace, golf-cart lifestyle, friendly people, and access to the diving they love.
Their path to Mahogany Bay happened almost by chance. During their first trip to Belize, they repeatedly met people who were building homes on the island and a chance encounter at a bar eventually introduced them to Dylan from RE/MAX Belize. After later walking into the office and meeting Ruben, everything began to come together.
Today, Rusty and Terra are building their own home in Mahogany Bay Phase 2 and say the experience gave them not only realtors, but new friends.

Makayla Lewis discovered Belize through Instagram while researching opportunities to own property abroad.
