BermudAir’s first Belize arrival puts Fort Lauderdale service into operation. For property owners, the opportunity is easier personal travel and a wider audience for winter rentals as more U.S. gateways follow.
If you own property in Belize, a new nonstop route can change two useful things: how easily you can use your property yourself, and who can realistically consider staying there.
BermudAir’s inaugural Belize flight arrived from Fort Lauderdale on October 26, 2026. That puts the first of its five announced U.S. gateways into operation. For owners with ties to South Florida, there is now another nonstop option to build a visit around. For rental operators, there is a specific departure market to address in their marketing, with an actual service behind it.
Fort Lauderdale gives you a specific audience to reach
The new route connects Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport (FLL) with Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE). The Belize Tourism Board identified it as the first of BermudAir’s five new U.S. gateways, ahead of December additions from Boston, Raleigh-Durham, Orlando Sanford and St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay.
For a South Florida traveler, a nonstop removes an intermediate airport from the journey. That can make Belize a more practical choice for someone weighing how much of a holiday they want to spend traveling.
If you operate a rental, give that person an answer to the next question: how do they get from BZE to your property? A clear arrival page can connect the international flight with the remaining journey, explaining the transport options and what guests should arrange ahead of time.
“Nonstop from Fort Lauderdale” is a useful opening. Showing how the rest of the trip works makes it useful to someone deciding where to stay. The new route can broaden your reachable audience, but your property still needs to explain why that audience should choose it.
For owners, access is part of how often you use the property
A property you can reach conveniently has a different place in your calendar from one that requires a complicated journey each time.
For owners based near Fort Lauderdale, the new service may make a return visit easier to fit around work or family commitments. It gives visiting relatives another option, too. For someone planning to divide the year between the United States and Belize, those repeated journeys deserve as much attention as the first trip.
Compare the full round trip against the periods when you actually want to be here. The useful measure is the number of nights you can spend at the property within the time you have available. A shorter outbound journey helps most when the return service also fits.
Rental calendars should reflect the flight calendar
BermudAir’s published timetable shows Monday, Wednesday and Friday service during launch week. November currently has Monday and Friday flights, with Wednesdays returning in December. Later in December, inbound departures from Fort Lauderdale move to Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, while return flights follow a different pattern.
For a rental operator, those details are more useful than a general headline about increased air access.
If you market to people using this route, check whether your minimum stays and permitted arrival days allow them to book a workable trip. A rigid changeover day could make an otherwise attractive property awkward to reserve. Flexible arrival dates may be more useful to this audience than a discount that does nothing to solve the timing problem.
Give your property manager the same schedule so check-in and turnover planning reflect when guests can travel.
Three Florida gateways mean three different starting points
The Florida expansion should not be treated as one departure market. Fort Lauderdale serves a different starting point from Orlando Sanford and St. Pete–Clearwater in the Tampa Bay area.
For owners, the relevant airport is the one that makes sense from home. For rental marketing, each gateway gives you a more specific way to speak to prospective guests than “easy access from Florida.”
Use the airport names accurately. Sanford is SFB, not Orlando International. St. Pete–Clearwater is PIE, not Tampa International. Someone evaluating travel time needs the correct departure point, especially when arranging a ride or comparing flight options.
The Tourism Board’s announced schedule places the first U.S.-origin flights into Belize from Boston on December 19, St. Pete–Clearwater on December 20, and Raleigh-Durham and Sanford on December 21. Some departures from Belize begin earlier.
Boston and Raleigh-Durham add a winter marketing opportunity
The December gateways broaden the expansion beyond Florida. Boston and Raleigh-Durham create opportunities to reach travelers considering a warm-weather stay during the northern winter.
For a rental owner, that suggests a focused approach: explain the property’s winter experience to people who can use these routes. Show what a week or longer stay looks like, how arrival works and what guests can enjoy from that particular location. Match the message to the property rather than promoting Belize in the abstract.
Our earlier article, Five New Nonstop Routes Are Making Belize Easier to Reach, explored the announced expansion. Today’s arrival moves Fort Lauderdale into the operating column; the December routes remain the next stage.
The bigger picture reaches beyond BermudAir
This arrival sits alongside other announced connections, including Discover Airlines’ planned Frankfurt–Belize service. Travel Belize lists its start as December 16, 2027, with twice-weekly seasonal flights through mid-April 2028. Our Frankfurt-to-Belize analysis looks at what that European gateway could mean for the country.
For an investor, the wider pattern is an expanding set of markets from which people can reach Belize. That gives owners more audiences to understand and rental businesses more ways to diversify their marketing beyond a single departure region.
Keep the timing useful: Fort Lauderdale is operating now, additional BermudAir gateways are scheduled for this December, and Frankfurt is a 2027 opportunity. Update current guest travel information first, then prepare for the markets coming next.
We’ll keep you updated as more routes are announced and begin flying, including what they mean for visiting, owning and investing in Belize.
